Inductrix LOS Battery Options

1S LiPo Batteries for the Inductrix

So you’ve been flying your Inductrix a while now and the stock 150mAh battery is just not cuttin’ it any more? One way to increase flight time and even gain a little performance is to upgrade the battery. If you upgrade to higher Kv motors and add additional weight like a frame stiffener, you will need better batteries. This can be tricky because if you go too heavy, performance will start to suffer. I tested the following 1S LiPo batteries both with stock Inductrix motors and aftermarket 17,000Kv motors:

  • Eflite 1S 3.7V 150mAh 25C (stock battery)
  • Eflite 1S 3.7V 150mAh 45C
  • Tattu 1S 3.7V 220mAh 45C
  • Lumenier 1S 3.7V 205mAh 25C
  • Lumenier 1S 3.7V 205mAh 25C with JST-RCY connector

Battery Flight Times with Stock Inductrix Motors (Flying LOS)
Obviously flight times will be longer with stock Inductrix motors as opposed to higher Kv motors because the stock motors draw less Current. The following chart shows average flight times for three flights on each battery. The Inductrix used had stock motors plus 1g extra weight for a frame stiffener. Batteries were flown to 3.6V.

Battery Flight Times with Stock Inductrix Motors

  • Lumenier 205mAh 25C w/JST-RCY: 7min 23sec Avg
  • Lumenier 205mAh 25C: 6min 55sec Avg
  • Tattu 220mAh 45C: 6min 53sec Avg
  • Eflite 150mAh 45C: 4min 3sec Avg
  • Eflite 150mAh 25C: 3min 38sec Avg

Battery Flight Times with 17,000Kv Motors (Flying LOS)
Flight times will be less with aftermarket higher Kv motors because of increased Current draw. The following chart shows average flight times for three flights on each battery. The Inductrix used had Lumenier 17,000Kv purple can motors plus 1g extra weight for a frame stiffener. Batteries were flown to 3.6V. Note: The Eflite 150mAh 25C battery was not included in this chart because it flew less than 2 minutes.

  • Lumenier 205mAh 25C w/JST-RCY: 5min 19sec Avg
  • Lumenier 205mAh 25C: 4min 47sec Avg
  • Tattu 220mAh 45C: 4min 39sec Avg
  • Eflite 150mAh 45C: 2min 10sec Avg

Battery Weight, Measured

  • Lumenier 205mAh 25C w/JST-RCY: 6.159g Avg (6.131, 6.152, 6.196g)
  • Lumenier 205mAh 25C: 5.869g
  • Tattu 220mAh 45C: 5.576g Avg (5.553, 5.568, 5.607g)
  • Eflite 150mAh 45C: 4.376g
  • Eflite 150mAh 25C: 4.279g

Battery Dimensions, Measured (does not include connector)

  • Lumenier 205mAh 25C w/JST-RCY: 50x11x5.5mm, 17mm wire length (up to JST)
  • Lumenier 205mAh 25C: 51x12x5.5mm
  • Tattu 220mAh 45C: 49x10x5.5mm
  • Eflite 150mAh 45C: 41.5x11x5mm
  • Eflite 150mAh 25C: 37.5x11x5.5mm
