Thunder Power 1S 4-Port Charger

Thunder Power 4-Port 1S Battery Charger

Probably most known for high-end RC LiPo batteries, Thunder Power also produces a line of battery chargers. One specific to ultra-micro aircraft, helicopters and quadcopters is the TP103CQ 4-Port 1S 3.7V AC/DC LiPo Battery Charger. This charger has 4 independent ports that can be used simultaneously, like having 4 individual chargers in one. The charger can be powered from AC voltage in your home or from a 12VDC lead-acid/Pb/gel-cell battery. I inquired with Thunder Power about the use of a LiPo battery powering the charger and was told, “Some people use a 3 cell [LiPo battery] to power the charger. The additional 1.8v that the 4 cells provides should be ok for the charger.”

Features

  • Extremely small, lightweight and portable
  • 4 independent 1S ports with standard Molex 1.25 connectors
  • Includes AC adapter and DC cable with alligator clips

Operation

The Thunder Power 4-Port 1S Battery Charger could not be any easier to operate. Just plug the included AC adapter into a wall outlet and insert up to four 1S 3.7V LiPo batteries. The LED indicator will turn from red to green when the battery on that port is fully charged.

Charging Time

I tested the charger with Thunder Power’s new 220mAh 1S 3.7V FPV Adrenaline 50C batteries as well as stock Inductrix Eflite 150mAh 25C batteries. All batteries measured 3.8V at the start of charging and 4.19V immediately after completion. The 4 Thunder Power 220mAh batteries charged fully in a respectable 28-minutes and 2 Eflite 150mAh batteries charged in just 10-minutes.
